Clearances
∙ Iona Soccer Club adheres to the guidelines established by the EPYSA and Pennsylvania state law, demonstrating a commitment to ensuring a safe environment for our players and their families. Whether you're already a coach or considering taking on a coaching role, certain essential steps must be taken. These include background checks, FBI clearance, and concussion training to name a few. Please review the requirements below. We understand some of these clearances can be confusing and time consuming, please don't hesitate to reach out and we can help guide you through the process∙
PA Child Abuse Clearance
∙ Free for Volunteers - Minimum of 14 days for approval. Must renew every 5 years. (Required for any Volunteer Coaches Over the Age of 17) ∙
PA State Police Clearance
∙ Free for Volunteers - Instant result. Have to renew every 5 years. (Required for any Volunteer Coaches Over the Age of 17) ∙
Risk Management
∙ Free for Volunteers - Must renew annually. This is completed through your GotSport dashboard ∙
Heads Up Training
∙ Free for Volunteers - Must renew annually. Approximately 30min to complete This can be completed through your GotSport dashboard ∙
FBI Background Check
∙ Free for Volunteers - Must renew every 5yrs. If you have been a PA resident for the last 10yrs use the first link. You will need to fill out the affidavit and upload to your GotSport ∙

∙ If you have not continuously lived in PA for 10+ years you will be required to be fingerprinted.
You will need the certificate or affirmation document turned in to club president
Cost: $22.60. Time Frame: Approx. 3 weeks for approval. You will need to register online first and then go get fingerprinted at an approved location ∙
Safe Sport Training
∙ Free for Volunteers - 90 minutes to complete. Must renew annually.
Training program to complete is: SafeSport Trained - U.S. Soccer Federation ∙
